What is a Permanent Makeup?

Permanent Makeup is a cosmetic procedure that adds color to the skin of the face. Using the proper technique and a very thin needle and pigment, permanent makeup can enhance the shape of your eyebrows, eyes, and lips.

For those who can’t wear traditional makeup due to allergies, permanent makeup is especially valuable. It’s also popular and helpful for those who play sports or regularly work out and don’t want to worry about sweating their makeup off.

This cosmetic procedure also benefits people with busy lives who don’t have time to spend in the morning applying and then touching up their makeup throughout the day. Permanent makeup is especially great for those who have experienced hair loss due to cancer or alopecia.

 FAQs

  • If proper sterilization and disinfection guidelines are met, permanent cosmetics should be completely safe. Professionals in the permanent cosmetic industry routinely attend Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) classes to become well versed on safety principles. These guidelines include but are not limited to the following. IMPORTANT Things To Look For:

All Needles should be new and sterile for each client. Unopened new and sterile needles should be opened in your presence.

Disposable sterilized one-time use machine parts should be purchased by the artist, and disposed of in a sharps container immediately after the procedure has been completed.

Personal protection equipment such as disposable one-time use aprons and gloves should be new for each client and changed during the procedure when needed.

The technician should be clean and neat.

Disposable one-time use chair/bed covering should be new for each client.

The room or treatment area should be in an area free from other contaminants. The SPCP has taken a position against permanent cosmetic procedures conducted at trade shows and in salons where nail dust, aerosols or other chemicals are present.

  • At the beginning of the procedure, we will do a pencil drawing of the shape depending on your face symmetry and your preferences.

Same with color, we choose the pigment color close to your hair roots and discuss how dark your eyebrows or lips you want.

No procedure will start without your approval of shape and color!

  • I always say: “Keep It Simple. Keep It Natural!” at least on the first procedure.

The final result depends on your wish. Whether you want just to enhance your natural eyebrows unnoticeably or do it exact same way as you do your makeup. All these things are discussable on the procedure.

  • Make sure that you haven’t done Botox, laser, peel, or any other surgical procedures prior 1-2 weeks before the Permanent Makeup. And your skin is not burned under the sun.

    This may affect retention.

Avoid taking any blood thinner medications such as Aspirin, Ibuprofen (and alcohol) the day before the procedure. If it is necessary for you to take them as a treatment plan, discuss this with on a consultation.

On the day of the procedure preferable not to take coffee or any other caffeine 6 hours before the procedure. This is because we don’t want your skin to bleed extremely. Usually, there is no blood while the service, but after amount, if coffee it may be.

  • Permanent Makeup can get to be done only with 2 sessions.

Touchups require for eyebrows, lips procedures, and eyeliner if you want bold results that last for years.

The first session is always just the introduction of pigment for the skin. Very rear you get full retention and color adjustment after only 1st procedure.

On the touchup, we fix the shape, color, since some parts of the PMU zone can fade away after 1st procedure.

  • Some swelling and redness can be expected for up to 24 hours following a procedure. Cold compress helps to reduce any swelling around the eye area. The treated area must be kept clean. No makeup should be applied for several days. Some skin peeling and lightening of the applied color is normal. If any additional adjustments are desired, these will be made during your follow-up appointment. Regular routines usually can be resumed immediately after the procedure. However, tanning or swimming should be avoided for a few days. Normal healing times are between four to seven days.

  • The healing process after a permanent makeup procedure varies from client to client based on many factors. This could include, but is not limited to: the artist's technique, pigments used, aftercare instructions, whether or not shading was done, as well as just overall how someone's body and skin reacts to the procedure. Some of the most common things clients can expect after a permanent makeup procedure are:

    Tenderness in the area

Pink or redness around the affected area

    Swelling

Thickening and darkening of the area

Moderate to thick scabbing 3-4 days after the procedure

Scabs will begin to flake off anytime between days 5 - 10

After scabs flake off, pigment color and strokes will look light, grey, and blurry

After the area is fully healed (4 weeks after the procedure) the pigment will return to full color

  • You may experience a minor and tolerable degree of scratching/pricking during the procedure. A topical anesthetic is used to reduce discomfort and promote relaxation. The treated area may be slightly tender immediately following the procedure. Tenderness will diminish within a few days post-treatment

  • People can develop an allergy to anything, anytime; however, pigment allergies are considered rare. Some doctors recommend that people with environmental allergies or allergies to conventional makeup have permanent cosmetic procedures because they can replace cosmetic products that people are sensitive to. While allergic reactions to any type of tattooing pigments on the body or on the face through permanent cosmetics may occur at any point in time, they are extremely rare. Ask your technician if their pigments meet their local jurisdictional requirements. Also, SPCP pigment suppliers are required to list the ingredients on their pigment labels.

If you are allergic, ask your technician to do a patch test.

  • Gradual fading can be expected for all micro-pigmentation procedures. This varies among people and is dependent on the specific shade used, personal care routine, and sun exposure. Most colors last 2 to 5 years, although some may not fade for as long as 10 years. Periodic 1-2 years of touchups are recommended to maintain the desired look. You can also choose to change the colors of your permanent makeup. For instance, nude lip color can be modified from peachy pink.

  • This will depend on the appearance and design of the previous permanent makeup and is evaluated on a case-by-case basis. You can text clear pictures to 919 6717217 for analysis and I can give you a clear answer based on the pictures we receive, and follow up with a consultation if necessary.

  • Generally speaking, we recommend waiting at least one week before we apply any permanent eyebrows, eyeliner, or lip liner/color. It may be necessary to wait a few more weeks after laser resurfacing or chemical peel. Sometimes it depends also how fast your body is healing.

  • We recommend waiting a few days to let the eyebrows heal completely before Botox is injected. A brow lift should not significantly alter the shape of a permanent eyebrow.

  • Depending on your health plan, some procedures are reimbursable (i.e., if a scar is the result of an accident or cancer treatment).

What is Li-FT Removal?

Li-FT saline products have recently been developed to remove unwanted pigment from tattoos. This service is done using the same traditional equipment (machine, needles, etc) used in the tattooing process. However, instead of pigment, this saline solution is implanted into the skin. A sterile solution is tattooed into the skin to make the skin reject the pigment.
